“My mom is threatening to put me in foster care!”
(Continued)
Hey Terra,
Last Thursday, I asked my mom to pick me up from school. She came and waited for 30 minutes. I didn't know it. So I called her an hour later and asked her how come she wasn't here. She said she was there for 30 minutes. She hung up on me. I called back 15 minutes later and she was still at home. I asked her if she can pick me up, she said to take the bus. I told her I didn't have any change. So she hung up on me and she came. I got in the car and showed her where I was the whole time. She said she didn't see me and that I should have looked for her. But she was on the side of the building where I couldn't see her.Not Superstitious
Dear Not Superstitious,
I'm sure your mom doesn't mean it when she said that about foster care. She loves you a lot and she was just annoyed and frustrated about having to wait and having to come to the school twice.
My suggestion is that you make the peace with her. Apologize like you really mean it. Ask her what she thinks you can do to make it up to her. Tell her that you really appreciate that she came for you TWICE and that from now on you will be very clear about where the two of you will meet when she comes to the school to pick you up. Tell her that you love her and that you don't like it when you fight.
Try it and let me know what happens.
In friendship,
Terra
